6. It’s Integrated The Next Batch Of NXT Call-ups
Earlier we covered how Finn Balor has become a star in light
of the Brand Split, but he’s not the only NXT graduate to have risen to
prominence in the past few weeks.
Nia Jax has started tearing through any and all challengers on Monday Night Raw. Admittedly those challengers are local athletes at present, but it does show that they’re at least trying to make her a star.
Plus, over on SmackDown, Mojo Rawley has been seamlessly integrated into the tag division, Alexa Bliss has been picking up her share of wins and Carmella’s been given a heel turn that’s made her character more interesting than it had ever been before.
Long story short; the Brand Split was a great way to smoothly integrate a new batch of call-ups from the NXT roster. The Draft drew attention to the fact that these were the lucky few who got recruited to the big leagues, even affording each of them some interview time. Without that, it would have been easy for their promotions to have got lost in the shuffle, something the Vaudevillains or Tyler Breeze would be able to tell you all about...
