Of course, it’s not just the new faces that have benefited from the upheaval. Especially on SmackDown, we’re seeing a number of stars from yesteryear finally getting their mojo back.

Dolph Ziggler recently challenged for the WWE title at SummerSlam, a move that many may have struggled to get behind, but you’ve got to give him credit for delivering some of the better mic work of his career in the build-up to that meeting with Dean Ambrose.

Speaking of mic work though, no one’s excelled more than the Miz has done since the 2016 Draft. He’s always been a top talker on Miz TV, but in recent weeks he’s been afforded the opportunity to branch out and actually deliver promos that have furthered stories for himself—most notably during that infamous Talking Smack segment, and again to some extent on SmackDown this past week.

Then of course we have the brilliant case of Heath Slater and Rhyno. Suddenly, a jobber and a guy who wasn’t even with the company are now two of the more entertaining acts on WWE television. Somehow I don’t think that would have been possible without the splitting of the brands.
