It may seem like a fairly minor point, but the presentation of both Raw and SmackDown had grown rather stale prior to the Brand Split. For years we’d seen the same sets, the same formats, and basically the same feel to every show, be it SmackDown, Raw, or even any non-WrestleMania PPV.

So it was hugely refreshing when the Brand Split ushered in top-to-bottom amendments to the overall presentation, no matter how subtle they were.

We saw new logos, new theme music, new stages and new camerawork, and of course the long-awaited return of brand-coloured ring ropes!

Again, these all sounds like minor points but they just helped to breathe new life into the shows and differentiate them from one another. And even for those who aren’t necessarily enamoured with the changes that we’ve seen, at least it shakes off any lingering preconceptions that fans may have had before the Brand Split, offering something of a fresh slate from which both shows can place their best foot forward.
