10 Reasons You Should Be Watching New Japan Pro Wrestling
6. They Hit Hard
Strong style has become a pro-wresting buzzword. Shinsuke Nakamura introduced it to WWE's audience with a bang, and suddenly people couldn't get enough of it. The truth is, it's nothing new. Japanese wrestling has always centred around hitting people and hitting them hard.
Despite initially being set up as a belt for younger talent, the NEVER Openweight Championship has become the title that takes these hard-hitting wrestlers under its wing. The likes of Hirooki Goto and Katsuyori Shibata go out there and beat the crap out of each other in their matches. Each blow sounds harder than the one that came before.
Forget the Montreal Screwjob; if you want to see real life come into wrestling, watch these guys fight.
If you like your wrestling to look like it hurts, then quite frankly you should be watching Japanese wrestling already. If, however, you have somehow missed that particular boat then gosh, start saving $8.40 a month.
