10 Royal Rumble 2017 Entrants Who Won’t Enter 2018's

6. Dean Ambrose

Rounding out the list of stars who will miss the Royal Rumble through injury is one Dean Ambrose. There will be no Shield dominance of the Rumble this year, and the nasty triceps tear Dean suffered means we won't see him running rampant with Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns until the end of 2018. So much for that big reunion.

Unlike Big Show, Big Cass, James Ellsworth and Mark Henry, Ambrose was made to work his socks off in last year's match. He didn't get to throw anyone over the top rope, but Dean was in the ring for a respectable 26 minutes and 55 seconds. That's not a bad shift, even if he was never realistically going to win the thing.

If Ambrose hadn't been injured right before Christmas, he'd have been a decent outside bet to win the Rumble this time. OK, so that sounds a bit far-fetched, though it must be said that few saw Randy Orton's win coming in 2017. Just like Ambrose, Orton was in a tag-team when he won, too.
