5. Sid Vicious (1 Day - January, 2000)

Also at Souled Out, Kevin Nash defeated Terry Funk to become the Commissioner of WCW. In the chaotic aftermath of Chris Benoit leaving, WCW decided to book Sid Vicious - the man Benoit had beaten - to become the new champion. After beating The Harris Boys, Sid then conquered Kevin Nash and held aloft the WCW World Title. It would have been logical for the company to move forward quickly. Of course, they didn't. Instead of attempting to move in a positive direction with their new champion, officials decided to once again vacate their top belt. Commissioner Nash revealed the news that Vicious had pinned the "wrong" Harris brother, and therefore should never have advanced to face him for the World Title. This was never discussed before that particular handicap match took place. Fans were baffled, even more so when Nash simply awarded the belt to himself. Sid Vicious then finally defeated both Nash and Ron Harris in a 2-on-1 affair to become World Champion once again. It's totally confusing why WCW continually booked angles like this, which further convoluted things and only damaged the reputation of the WCW World Title. In January alone, the belt was vacated 3 times.
