10 Shockingly Short World Title Reigns That Damaged WCW
4. Kevin Nash (6 Days - May, 2000)
On the May 15, 2000 edition of Monday Nitro, Ric Flair won the WCW World Title from Jeff Jarrett. The reign would only last 7 days, before Vince Russo stripped him of the prize. That's not something which should surprise anyone by this point, because that was a heavily prevalent plot device in the year 2000 for World Championship Wrestling. From there, Jeff Jarrett defeated Kevin Nash in a 'Falls Count Anywhere' bout on the same Nitro Flair was stripped. Just a few short days later on Thunder, the belt changed hands once more. This time, Nash battered Jarrett and Scott Steiner in a Triple Threat collision. The result of this was that 'Big Sexy' merely decided to hand the belt back to Flair on the following edition of Nitro. In the main event of that same broadcast, Jeff Jarrett beat Flair to recapture the title. The entire scenario was insulting to the WCW World Title. How were fans supposed to take things seriously? The title was beaming around the place with serious regularity, and it was helping absolutely no-one. The fact Nash handed the belt to Flair, and it was recognised as a title change, is crazy.
