The first brief Brock Lesnar match since his return to WWE in 2012 took place at 2014's Royal Rumble event, where he battered Big Show with multiple chair shots and put him away in decisive fashion.

Prior to that point, all of Lesnar's matches on pay-per-view had been drawn out and were positioned as the main event more often than not. Heading into his match with Big Show, which felt like filler for Lesnar ahead of WrestleMania XXX, he was on an absolute tear with wins over Triple H and CM Punk.

Lesnar had been rumored to face The Undertaker at WrestleMania that year since the tail end of 2013, so it only made sense for him to make short work of The World's Largest Athlete and re-establish himself as the most dominant force in all of WWE.

More importantly, this brutal beatdown spared fans of an outing between these two that likely wouldn't have been all that great had it been given more time. Granted, as you could tell from the abundance of matches on this list, WWE has abused this formula for Lesnar over the years, but it worked wonders in 2014 and gave him the credibility he needed to challenge Undertaker's storied streak on the grandest stage of them all.
