10 Shortest WrestleMania Matches Of All Time

1. Kane Vs. Chavo Guerrero - WrestleMania XXIV - 11 Seconds

The shortest match in WrestleMania history, the 11 seconds it took Kane to defeat Chavo Guerrero at WrestleMania XXIV to win the ECW World Championship is unlikely to be beaten any time soon. Earlier in the night (on the pre-show), Kane had won a 24-man battle royal by last eliminating Mark Henry to earn the right to challenge Chavo on the main show. Chavo entered the match first, and his entrance seemed to go on forever. This wasn't so bad, as his entrance music ranks pretty high on the all-time great list. Kane, the babyface, entered the ring from behind Chavo, surprising the champion. The bell rang, Kane hit a chokeslam and the three count was administered before the fat lady could even make it to the microphone. I remember watching this live and being totally disappointed. Not because I had any great desire to see Kane and Chavo put on a 30-minute match, but because of the complete lack of respect shown to the title and brand at the time. This was the only ECW match on the show after all. In fact, the only truly entertaining aspect of it all is the reaction of Tazz on commentary, who pretty much just repeats 'what the hell?!' over and over. This 11-second classic is a fairly good representation of ultra-short matches at WrestleMania. It existed for the purpose of setting a record, a throwaway segment that would have a place in the history books. To call the booking lazy is a waste of time. Nobody benefited, neither performer, the belt or the brand. It is a record that will hopefully stand for the rest of time, not because it deserves to but because nobody deserves to be subjected to a similar fate in the future.
