10 Small Changes That Would Improve WWE

4. Do More Vignettes For New And Returning Talent

Before "The Million Dollar Man" Ted Dibiase debuted in 1987, we knew what his gimmick was, that he was a bad guy and why we should boo him. Same with Mr. Perfect and Razor Ramon. Those few who didn't know Dusty Rhodes was an everyman hero before he returned to the WWF in 1989 got the idea by watching him fix cars, deliver pizza and (like his dad) do plumbing.

Now, everyone not named Cena and Reigns is basically the same. While Finn Balor's Raw debut was well done, why was it necessary to have him don his demon paint for a random Raw appearance, rather than explain why his "Demon King" alter ego was reserved for big matches? Even in NXT, it was explained that Balor sometimes called upon his darker side before going to battle, and it was done in a pre-taped vignette.

Is we've explained in video form, WWE's most effective weapon is its production team, and doing more vignettes such as those could help the audience invest in its characters. You can't build new stars if you don't make someone look like one before they hit the ring.
