10 Stacked WWE Cards Which Failed To Deliver
8. No Mercy (2017)
How can you c*ck up two massive once in a lifetime monsters clashing for the Universal title not once, but twice in just over a year?
We'll get to the other occasion later, but here Brock Lesnar was coming off the back of successfully defending his belt against Braun Strowman, Roman Reigns and Samoa Joe in a barnburner of a fatal four-way match at SummerSlam. However, Strowman wasn't too happy about coming out of that event empty handed and targeted 'The Beast' soon after.
This No Mercy match for the big red belt should have been a blockbuster, balls-to-the-wall massacre. Yet, instead we got Strowman looking super-human for the majority of the match - nailing the champ with multiple running power slams - before Lesnar F-5'd 'The Monster Among Men' for the win...because of course he did.
Elsewhere on the card we got a stale blow-off for the riveting John Cena vs. Roman Reigns 'Face of WWE' rivalry that we'd been treated on Raw in the weeks leading up to the event, with Reigns eventually getting his arm raised and having the torch passed over to him from Cena... because of course he did.
On top of these two disappointing duds you had Finn Bálor and Bray Wyatt going at it - minus the former's 'Demon King' persona - and Enzo Amore not being pulverised by Neville, before winning the bloody Cruiserweight title!
All in all, you can't help but feel as though WWE squandered what could have been a truly special night, bolstered by some of the top names available to them at the time.
