10 Strangest WWE Pushes

5. Mabel

If wrestling fans believe WWE are short of talent nowadays, they should use the magic of the WWE Network to travel back to 1995. It was a long, difficult year for the then-WWF, who didn't really appear to have much of a clue what their core audience wanted to see, resulting in many cartoon-like characters who failed to register much interest. One of those cartoon stars was the giant Mabel, who performed alongside Mo as the heel tag-team, Men On A Mission. Entered into the 1995 King Of The Ring, not many felt the company would push the man to the moon, but that's exactly what happened. A WWF Title match against reigning champion Diesel followed, but fans weren't buying it. Throwing his significant weight around, Mabel managed to legit injure The Undertaker, squashing his face during a match, and would dwindle down the card, eventually being released shortly after the 1996 Royal Rumble. Putting the King Of The Ring crown on him was baffling, and did nothing for the King gimmick itself.
