10 Strangest WWE Trademarks

8. Stiff Upper Lip

This must have been intended for use with a British superstar, right? The phrase 'stiff upper lip' is commonplace in the United Kingdom, meaning the display of fortitude in the face of adversity or showing restraint when it comes to great emotion. Basically, the impression that you aren't truly bothered by anything.

WWE applied for the trademark in 2007, but nothing came of it. They held onto it for a good four years though, meaning either it got lost in their pile of trademarks or plans were always nearly around for it to be used. What would it have been?

A new show? A stable name? A finishing move for Regal? All three?

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
