10 Strangest WWE Trademarks

6. Torlito

On the 3rd of June 2013, WWE filed an application to trademark 'Torito'. This it turned out to be was the name used in the company by Mascarita Dorada, legendary masked Mexican luchador mini-estrella. He went by the name El Torito, and had a pretty fun run all the way up to his release this year.

What is interesting is that just before filing the trademark for 'Torito', WWE also filed one for 'Torlito'. Was this an administrative error? A spelling mistake? A possible other gimmick for Dorada? 'Torito' means little bull, but 'Tolito'? This doesn't mean anything.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
