10 Strongest Champions In Wrestling Today

6. Alexa Bliss (WWE Raw Women’s Champion)

While the likes of Charlotte, Becky Lynch, and Sasha Banks have seen their pushes decline in 2017, Alexa Bliss has soared. She lost her SmackDown Women’s Title earlier in the year, but joining Raw in the Superstar Shake-Up has only improved her fortunes, and she became the first wrestler to have held both of the company’s Women’s Championships by toppling Bayley at Payback on 30 April.

Bliss successfully defended the belt against her rival at Extreme Rules, and while the feud produced some horrendous content, Alexa was presented as strong throughout. She buried Bayley, leaving the company with a huge rebuilding job on their hands, but enhanced her position in the process, and will now defend the belt against Sasha Banks at Great Balls Of Fire.

The quality of the Bayley feud does prevent Bliss from finishing higher, as does her lack of defences (Alexa has made just two since winning the belt). Still, she’s one of the strongest booked wrestlers in the company today. Her character work is several levels above her cohorts, ensuring she’ll always be well pushed for as long as she’s in WWE’s good graces.
