10 More Superstars Who Had Better Careers Outside WWE
8. Colt Cabana
The man who was once Scotty Goldman, Colt Cabana is one of CM Punks closest friends, and a talented wrestler in his own right. Though he started off on the independent scene, he was signed to the WWE from 2007 to 2009, where was mainly a jobber, losing in short televised matches to the likes of the Great Khali and Umaga. He was basically a victim of no booking; they had nothing for him, so they made him a jobber until they let him go. Cabanas career on the independent circuit was much more successful for him when compared to his WWE run. His list of accomplishments and titles in pro wrestling is indeed impressive: from winning the World titles in small promotions like Juggalo Championship Wrestling and Chikara, to making it to bigger promotions like Pro Wrestling NOAH and Ring of Honor. Had he been elevated in WWE, Cabana wouldve made the perfect comedy wrestler, in the same vein as Santino Marella. His ability to make the audience laugh can be demonstrated in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=STK-pNUN79g Cabana has a certain cleverness that allows him to make virtually any situation funny, which would be perfect in todays WWE. His style of humor would be simple, with things like basic slapstick comedy, getting into his opponents head in a funny way etc. Had he been given the opportunity, he would have been the perfect man to work alongside Santino Marella as WWEs comedy act, instead of having the ridiculous and borderline-stupid Bunny character, El Torito twerking, and Hornswoggle as a mini-gator.
