10 Superstars Kurt Angle Needs To Face Before He Retires

There'll be no dream match against Bret Hart, but Kurt Angle NEEDS these matches before he quits.

Wrestling fans are famous for having a vast array of differing opinions, especially in this world of social media and the infamous IWC, but there€™s one thing that we all can agree on: Kurt Angle is one of the very finest wrestlers to ever lace up a pair of boots. As well as being an Olympic gold medalist, Angle is a 6-time TNA World Champion, a 4-time WWE World Heavyweight Champion, and has a raft of other championships and accomplishments to his name. Simply put, this wrestling machine is one of the best of all-time, and his battles with the likes of Brock Lesnar, Chris Benoit (are we allowed to mention him yet?), Samoa Joe, Triple H, Steve Austin, and The Rock are legendary. Now, whilst Kurt Angle is set to retire from TNA during their tour of the UK later this month, he€™s not retiring from the wrestling business altogether. Sure, he may now be 47 years of age, but Angle can still go and there are still a whole host of other mouthwatering potential match-ups out there for the veteran. Whether Kurt ends up back in the WWE for one last run, re-signs with TNA at some point, or decides to try his hand elsewhere, there is still something left in the tank and some big matches to be. Here are ten opponents he needs to tie up with before he calls it a day.

Once described as the Swiss Army Knife of WhatCulture, Andrew can usually be found writing, editing, or presenting on a wide range of topics. As a lifelong wrestling fan, horror obsessive, and comic book nerd, he's been covering those topics professionally as far back as 2010. In addition to his current WhatCulture role of Senior Content Producer, Andrew previously spent nearly a decade as Online Editor and Lead Writer for the world's longest-running genre publication, Starburst Magazine, and his work has also been featured on BBC, TechRadar, Tom's Guide, WhatToWatch, Sportkskeeda, and various other outlets, in addition to being a Rotten Tomatoes-approved film critic. Between his main dayjob, his role as the lead panel host of Wales Comic Con, and his gig as a pre-match host for Wrexham AFC games, Andrew has also carried out a hugely varied amount of interviews, from the likes of Robert Englund, Kane Hodder, Adrienne Barbeau, Rob Zombie, Katharine Isabelle, Leigh Whannell, Bruce Campbell, and Tony Todd, to Kevin Smith, Ron Perlman, Elijah Wood, Giancarlo Esposito, Simon Pegg, Charlie Cox, the Russo Brothers, and Brian Blessed, to Kevin Conroy, Paul Dini, Tara Strong, Will Friedle, Burt Ward, Andrea Romano, Frank Miller, and Rob Liefeld, to Bret Hart, Sting, Mick Foley, Ricky Starks, Jamie Hayer, Britt Baker, Eric Bischoff, and William Regal, to Mickey Thomas, Joey Jones, Phil Parkinson, Brian Flynn, Denis Smith, Gary Bennett, Karl Connolly, and Bryan Robson - and that's just the tip of an ever-expanding iceberg.
