These days, Braun Strowman has found success in the SmackDown tag team division alongside smaller compatriot Ricochet. But several years ago, the Monster of all Monsters made a splash in the tag ranks with an even smaller partner.

Heading into WrestleMania 34, Strowman was embroiled in a feud with The Bar, who were the reigning Raw Tag Team Champions. Braun proved to be more than a match for both men, but he was not allowed to challenge for the tag titles alone. Incredibly, no one on the Raw roster was willing or capable of signing on prior to Mania, leaving Strowman to declare that he would reveal his tag partner the night of the match.

On the night, Braun made the announcement that his tag partner would be a fan. He then walked through the crowd before picking out 10-year-old Nicholas (who turned out to be referee John Cone’s son) to be his partner. In a completion of this “feel-good” story, Braun & Nicholas managed to topple Cesaro & Sheamus, winning the tag titles and making the kid the youngest WWE champion in history.

The next night on Raw, however, the champs surrendered the titles in part because Nicholas needed to get back to his duties in the fifth grade. It was stupid, silly, and ultimately harmless, though The Bar looked foolish for the duration of the angle.
