10 Tag Teams WWE Should Reform
4. Awesome Truth (R-Truth & The Miz)
Speaking of the 24/7 title, there may be no man more synonymous with it at this point than R-Truth. But that type of sustained success can only last so long. The man is a 13-time champion. What more can he possibly do to build the prestige of the top prize in all of wrestling?
All sarcasm aside, you would think the tremendous popularity Truth has garnered from these comedy skits would eventually be used for something other than social media views. After all, the real problem is in the TV viewership, not their YouTube channel.
And coincidentally, his former partner The Miz is caught in a bit of an impasse with his career currently as well. He has continuously come out on the losing end of his feuds as of late, even to Shane McMahon via sweaty cage escape, and now has been relegated to being beaten up by Shinsuke Nakamura to build him and Zayn up the card. A weird place to be for one of WWE’s more recognizable and marketable stars. And reuniting with Truth could be a great resurgence for both of them.
Remember that while billed as Awesome Truth, they took on teams such as The Rock and John Cena, and Triple H and CM Punk. Their reign as an interesting and complementary duo may have only been cut short by Truth's Wellness Policy violation back then. Truth ended up teaming with several different people after that ended. So why not have a seven-year reunion to bring them back?
R-Truth is now a 13 time 24/7 champion; he deserves a push befitting his resume.
