10 Terrible Debuts AEW Quickly Fixed

8. The Butcher & The Blade

Jungle Boy Christian Cage
AEW

Cody had made light work of a Dynamite squash on the 28th November 2019 edition of the show, full of hell as he was with MJF for screwing him out of the AEW Championship at Revolution just days earlier. He'd have weirder fish to fry before he could get his hands on his former friend.

Taking an age to cut the canvas as Cody idiotically stared at the ramp, The Blade (known by Excalibur but not JR or, seemingly, the audience) emerged from under the ring and dropped him before The Butcher appeared from the same hole to drop 'The American Nightmare' with the sh*t end of a bad double team move.

The Bunny - formerly Allie - was last out from underneath the canvas as Ross and the crowd still didn't really know what to make of any of it. A "bullsh*t" chant broke out as cameras kept rolling through the commercial, though things would eventually improve for the trio.

Upgrading their look and moving away from an unnatural alliance with MJF, the team are still only on the fringes of a bustling doubles division, but establishing any credibility as a major team to beat was a major achievement after such a dud of a debut.
