10 Things 2015 In Wrestling Will Be Remembered For

4. Seth Rollins Vacates WWE World Heavyweight Title Through Injury

Not a lot of pro wrestling fans would have chosen Kane to main event a WWE pay-per-view in 2015, but that's exactly what happened at Hell In A Cell this past October. The aging star's opponent was the WWE World Heavyweight Champion, Seth Rollins. Surprisingly, the match was decent, which more people would attribute to the ever-talented Rollins than Kane. Seth's capturing of the WWE Title at WrestleMania is memorable, but his year has been overshadowed by something else. In November, during a routine house show appearance in Dublin, Ireland, Rollins suffered a nasty combination of injuries to his leg. This forced WWE management to make a decision, and they chose to strip him of the WWE Title with immediate effect. This was a depressing end to the man's first run with the showcase belt. As champion, he had worked as hard as anybody, and his matches were often the glue which served to hold shows together. The fact he didn't get to see that title reign through can't be considered a positive. However, it is something 2015 will be remembered for, better or worse.
