10 Things 2015 In Wrestling Will Be Remembered For
3. Hulk Hogan's WWE Woes
Hulk Hogan is one of the biggest stars in the history of WWE, that fact just cannot be denied. That said, the company which helped make him famous tried their very best to distance themselves from 'Hulkamania' in July, 2015. Amidst allegations of racism, the promotion elected to terminate their contract with Hogan and send him packing. This was a scandal Hulk would have to deal with on his own. Things have calmed sufficiently by the end of the year, and there's even talk of Hogan someday returning to the WWE fold. At the start of the year, WWE were keen to embrace the legend of Hulk Hogan, telling anybody who would listen that he was the 'Babe Ruth of wrestling' time and time again. By the Summer, they acted like the man had never even existed. A lot of Hulk Hogan content was deleted from WWE's official website, which was the most striking aspect of the whole ordeal. It's one thing to distance the company and protect it from negative press, but it's another to just pretend one of wrestling's biggest ever stars was nothing to do with WWE.
