10. Savage Comes From A Wrestling Family Featured On Ripley's

Randy Savage was born Randy Mario Poffo on November 15, 1952 in Columbus, Ohio. His father Angelo Poffo started wrestling back in 1949, and didn't officially retire until 1991; which totaled a lengthy career of 42 years. In 1966, he would form a heel tag team with Chris Markoff; which would later be famous because they were managed by Bobby "The Brain" Heenan. Though Angelo had mild success as a pro wrestler, his biggest claim to fame was being featured in a franchise that focused on the strange and weird. Ripley's Believe It Or Not! is one of the most famous long-running franchises showcasing crazy people and stories since the 1920's. Angelo was featured by Ripley's thanks to breaking the world record for consecutive sit-ups at an astounding 6,033 back in 1945. Angelo would capitalize on both the achievement and the amazing shape he was in and become a professional wrestlers in Chicago back in the 1950's; which was one of the hottest areas to wrestle back then as it wasn't as widely accepted then as it is today.
