10 Things Everybody Gets Wrong About Modern WWE

9. Roman Reigns Is Being Shoved Down Our Throats

No, he isn't. While this complaint was certainly true a year ago, the argument just doesn't stack up anymore.

Reigns calls himself 'The Guy,' but he hasn't held one of WWE's top championships since June 2016, and probably won't touch the Universal Title until WrestleMania 34. The "shoved down our throats" argument suggest main event dominance, but while Roman has headlined four pay-per-views this year, he was victorious in only one of those matches.

In the ring, Reigns' 2017 W-L-D record sits at a modest 15-12-2. Granted, he's usually protected when he loses, but his record would be far more imbalanced if his push was as excessive as his harshest critics make out.

He's probably still the competitor that Vince McMahon wants to build his company around, but the numbers show that Roman's push has unquestionably eased off this year. Not only that, but his character work isn't half as cringeworthy as it used to be, he continually proves himself as a good-to-great worker in the ring, and he was recently named WWE's biggest merch-seller, justifying his position within the company.

His most stubborn haters will never disappear, but the facts aren't on their side anymore.
