10 Things That HAVEN'T Totally Sucked About WWE In 2021

4. Pulling The Trigger On Cesaro, Sort Of

It only took them nine years, but WWE finally put Cesaro in a one-on-one World Championship feud. He was never, ever going to win the damned thing, but you know what? This ruled.

Cesaro, in 2021, has ruled.

His mini-programme vs. Daniel Bryan at the start of the year was superb, if short-lived. This was followed by a sublime showing in the Elimination Chamber match, during which he ousted King Corbin from the bout. Needless to say, 'The Swiss Superman's' WrestleMania contest vs. Seth Rollins was a blissful display of technical wrestling.

In that one match, the former Claudio Castagnoli countered Rollins' patented Stomp with a stiff uppercut, achieved 23 revolutions with the Cesaro Swing, brought the UFO out of the closet, and connected with two Neutralizers.

WWE are finally getting Cesaro right. Literally, all he needs to do to get over is step between the ropes for a matter of minutes. His work does the talking for him. We, as fans, have known this for years, dating even before his WWE signing. Why it's taken WWE higher-ups this long to understand such a simple concept is ludicrous.

Look, Cesaro will never be WWE or Universal Champion. WWE simply don't view him as the face of the company. If he can be in the picture every now and again, though, where it looks like he could lift either title, that's fine. Don't bet on him pinning Roman Reigns, though.
