10 Things That HAVEN'T Totally Sucked About WWE In 2021

5. Genuinely Heartwarming Moments

Bianca Belair WrestleMania 37

Emotions have been high as it is throughout the past fifteen months for obvious reasons, meaning even the smallest thing can set you off. Professional wrestling has been no different in that timespan.

Over WrestleMania 37 weekend, Bianca Belair's victory of the SmackDown Women's Championship in night one's main event brought tears to not only Belair herself, but many in attendance. The 2021 Royal Rumble winner was a genuine product of the Performance Center and had been deserving of such an opportunity for years before this. As dull as that 'Mania build vs. Sasha Banks was, the match delivered, making Bianca's title win all that more feel-good.

The pre-WrestleMania Backlash episode of SmackDown, meanwhile, saw Natalya and Tamina become the new Women's Tag Team Champions, usurping Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler. About eleven years after her debut in May 2010, the win marked Tamina's first championship ever. Well, her first 'proper' title; the 24/7 Championship should never be counted unless you're R-Truth.

Even something as simple as the 'Mania night two headliner - Roman Reigns vs. Daniel Bryan vs. Edge - brought a tear to this writer's eye. In the years prior, Edge and Bryan were forced into early retirement due to injury, while Reigns had battled his returning leukaemia.

If only that story had been pushed harder ahead of the bout...
