10 Things That Will Happen In NXT Before 2021
3. Second Ever Women's TakeOver Main Event
The rivalry between Rhea Ripley and Charlotte Flair was one of the most hyped going into WrestleMania. Fans couldn't wait to see the total clash of generations between the two. The pair didn't disappoint, producing by far the best women's match on the card and one of the best matches across the two night super show in general.
TakeOver hasn't had a main event from the women's division since the famed Sasha Banks and Bayley 30 Minute Iron Man match, back in 2015, at TakeOver: Respect. That is almost five years ago! During those five years, NXT's women's division has continued to be a delight. with stars such as Asuka, Kairi Sane, Io Shirai, Shayna Baszler and many more coming through and producing standout matches on TakeOver shows. However, none of these matches have been produced from feuds worthy of the main event slot. Sure they have been amazing, but they still couldn't beat the Johnny Gargano vs. Tommaso Ciampa or Adam Cole feuds that have dominated TakeOver events for the last few years.
Until now that is. Flair vs. Ripley is a main event calibre feud, that has proven to produce main event calibre matches. Also, it doesn't hurt that Charlotte Flair, one of the company's biggest stars, is a part of the feud. She is the Roman Reigns of the WWE women's division, so don't be surprised if in her TakeOver debut, she is placed right at the top spot.
