10 Things That Would Improve WWE Brand Split

8. Mix Up How Shows Start

Stephanie McMahon Seth Rollins

Everyone knows the format by now: Main Event Wrestler A comes out to get something off his chest only to be interrupted by Main Event Wrestler B. Sometimes, this is even followed up by Authority Figure A emerging to make a match later on that evening involving some combination of the argumentative stars inside the ring.

Nobody is claiming that WWE can't book these segments every so often, but writing them right at the top of every broadcast feels predictably lazy.

It cannot be easy to write WWE television, so it's important not to throw the creative team under a bus here. The best suggestion would be to occasionally have shows begin with a solid wrestling match, or maybe even the announcing team hyping up what fans can expect to see that evening.

As much as WWE would hate the idea, taking that particular leaf out of WCW's Monday Nitro playbook would greatly aid Raw and SmackDown's flow. Fans know what the major feuds are, so we don't need Seth Rollins to tell us why he wants to fight Samoa Joe every week. Get Michael Cole and pals to do that for him, thus eliminating these formulaic promos.
