When Triple H stood before Daniel Bryan and called him a "B+ player" live on WWE programming, there was probably an element of truth to his words; as unlikely a World Champion as the company has ever produced, there was nothing about Bryan that immediately screamed 'WWE Superstar', and it's plausible Trips did hold that view in reality.

Whether that was the case or not in his real-life mind, the so-called squash artist put Bryan over huge at WrestleMania XXX.

The entire story was built from the ground up to suggest that WWE's machine would never be behind Bryan, but some detractors missed the point entirely; those penning the angle wanted to foster the idea that a fan hero might be cast aside once Triple H had beaten him on pay-per-view.

In the very first match at 'Mania XXX, the underdog story of Bryan thrilled fans when he toppled The Authority's leader one-on-one before eventually going on to become WWE World Heavyweight Champion later that night.

Triple H could easily have been selfish, but he did the right thing.
