Moving away from Triple H's more recent work outside the ring, the beauty of the WWE Network is that the service allows a younger generation of fans to look back at what he achieved inside it.

Few wrestlers gelled with Triple H between the ropes like The Rock, and there's a staggering amount of matches available between both men on the Network; earlier bouts stretch right back to 1997, when a fresh-faced Rocky Maivia was struggling to make an impression against a similarly tepid Hunter Hearst Helmsley.

By the time Vince McMahon put both men together again in 2000 for a main event feud, the shackles were off and they produced some of the best work of their respective careers.

Rock himself had played heel previously, but his newfound babyface success was driven by significant heel foil; sneering and lacking any redeeming qualities as a television character, the villainous Triple H was the ideal match for Rock's electric charisma.

From Backlash and Judgment Day, to countless scuffles across Raw and SmackDown, the feud between Triple H and The Rock from the year 2000 exhibits exactly the kind of atmosphere WWE's script writers would kill for today.
