10 Things We Learned From A Genuine 1998 WCW Nitro Script

1. Exactly When The Script Was Finalised

Nitro went live at 8pm as standard on 5 October '98.

The bottom of every single page of the script has the same message: "Document created 10/05/98 @ 7.31pm", and it adds, "This information is subject to change!". Note the time there. The entire show was only finalised 29 minutes before it went live on TNT around the United States.

"Subject to change" might also hint that the aforementioned Warrior and Hogan mirror angle was only added to the format whilst the show was in progress. That wouldn't be a stretch when one remembers that WCW was a chaotic place and and was ever-changing. Perhaps they just...forgot that they needed more to sell Hogan vs. Warrior at Halloween Havoc?

Or, maybe the mirror angle was slated for a future episode but they decided to slot it in here and fill a gap. Who knows, but it is incredible to think that the final draft for that evening's script came together so close to bell time.
