Sorry in advance, ECW hardcores.

Jericho told Austin that he doesn't consider himself an 'ECW guy". In fact, he never has, and there's a simple reason why: Chris only worked a grand total of 22 matches for the company (over 11 different weekends) before he moved up the ladder and signed for WCW.

He recalled phoning Paul Heyman for a solid year before he even got booked for the revolutionary organisation; Heyman would say things like, "Hey Chris. Listen, I've got Jimmy Snuka on the other line so I'll call you right back!". Austin got a kick out of hearing that story, 'cause similar things probs happened to him.

Eventually, Heyman called Jericho and told him he'd been "trying to get ahold of him for months". Somehow, Chris knew that ECW wasn't gonna' be his end goal. He wanted bigger things, and doesn't understand when revisionists claim now that he was some sort of Extreme original.
