3. Will Ospreay Offered Evolve Contract Live On Stage
Yup folks, you read that right; Paul Heyman offered Will Ospreay a contract for Evolve wrestling (owned by former Heyman understudy Gabe Sapolsky). Heyman referred to Evolve as one of the most progressive wrestling companies in the world before putting over Ospreay's ability and work in New Japan Pro Wrestling.
Heyman told the insurgent Ospreay to not let anyone screw up the NJPW deal for him and to continue forging a worldwide reputation but that, should he not be wrestling for New Japan at one time, that Evolve would be more than happy for him to work for them. He then pulled out a contract and presented it to an emotional Ospreay.
It was a wonderful, spontaneous moment that went down a storm with the fans in York Hall. It should also be noted that Heyman put over the work of Marty Scrull, who was also in attendance on the night. Heyman is clearly keeping his eye open for up-and-coming talent on the independent scene and is aware of groups such as California's PWG and Scotland's ICW.
