There aren't many workers who don't want to go into the WWE Hall Of Fame.

Jerry Lawler was one of them, but only 'cause he feared the company might be putting him out to pasture when Vince spread the good news in 2007. During that otherwise-jovial phone call, Lawler said, "Oh no! I don't want to do that!". As a result, Vinnie Mac was rather confused.

Nobody had ever reacted that way before. When he learned Jerry's concerns, McMahon assured him that he wasn't taking him off television after WrestleMania 23 and that the HOF gig wouldn't affect his on-air role with the promotion at all. That's when Lawler told his friend that he'd be honoured.

13 years on, Lawler is still going strong. He dished some details to Austin about a special 50th anniversary show he's running in Memphis, then rapidly shut down any suggestions that might be the end of his career. The 'King' refuses to retire just yet.
