One of the Gauntlet's best moments came when a well-meaning AJ Styles tried to give Kofi some breathing space to recover. Seconds later, Kingston was in AJ's face, roaring about how he'd waited "11 years for this". According to Kofi on the podcast, that wasn't a work. He was being deadly serious.

He'd been in the match for around 50-55 minutes by that point, and it took that long for him to start feeling the moment. When he did, energy coursed through his body and he fired up at Styles. The whole thing, including AJ's reaction, was ad-libbed.

Is it any wonder fans loved this match? It was pure wrestling goodness.

At that point, Kofi said he started getting a second wind and enjoyed every second of his trade-offs with Styles. He could tell that fans were digging what they were seeing, and he also knew there'd be some buzz about his performance afterwards.
