10 Things We Learned From Mark Henry On Stone Cold's Broken Skull Sessions

1. Henry’s Revenge On JR

Steve Austin seemed legitimately shocked when Mark dropped this little-known story.

After becoming World Heavyweight Champion in 2011, Henry worked an in-ring interview segment with Jim Ross. Maybe the word "worked" doesn't fit, because this was a big deal to Mark. Years earlier, he'd been in a room with JR and Vince McMahon, and Ross told the boss that he should perhaps cut his losses because Henry wouldn't become what he wanted him to be.

Mark never forgot that, and he claims he used the skit to gain a little revenge. Live on air, he grabbed JR's tie and firmly wrapped it around his fist. Then, he started choking the announcer a bit until Ross said he was the World Champ out loud. Nobody could've known that the segment carried some very real emotional baggage for Henry.

He has a lot of respect for Jim, but was angry that someone in a position of power didn't seem to have mutual respect for him. Ross must've been terrified when Mark grabbed him. Anyone would be - Austin's eyes widened at the thought of Henry getting carried away.

Ooft.
