Mark met Bill DeMott for the first time when both were in town for the fourth Brian Pillman Memorial show in 2001. Both men hit it off immediately, and spent around 30 minutes chatting backstage before even learning the other's name. That's when officials told them they'd be working together that night.

DeMott confided in Henry that he needed the match to be a success, because early signs weren't good for him in the WWF during the sagging WCW invasion angle. Mark acknowledged what his struggling peer was saying, and admitted that he also needed a hit to convince the company that he was worth keeping around too.

They agreed to tear it up and worked an athletic big man match.

When both returned to the locker room, none other than Ricky Steamboat walked over and told both it was good to see psychology was still alive and well in "our business". That was the first time Henry remembers feeling included in chat about "our business". He felt like he finally belonged.
