Undeterred by the lack of support for wrestling in his homeland, Black and several friends decided to start their own company. Pro Wrestling Holland was formed in 2006 and still runs shows in the country today. That's something Aleister is very much proud of.

He should be, because a note on the PWH website proves just how difficult it is to capture Dutch imaginations with the biz; translated into English, the site's introductory paragraph explains that pro wrestling "is a sport where over-the-top fighting techniques are combined with a lot of show and drama".

In other words, as Black says, people in Holland struggle with the medium's purpose.

Things have changed a little in recent years. Today, Pro Wrestling Holland is the largest company in the country to tour, and even runs a training school designed to ready stars of the future for shows. That's something Black could have been doing with 18 years ago.
