10 Things We Need To See Before WWE's Bloodline Saga Ends
8. Rikishi Gets Involved
The Bloodline saga is, obviously, about family, but now more than ever its focus is on the positions and allegiances of the brothers Jey, Jimmy, and Solo. We’ve seen a little from the Anoa’i family’s previous generation, with Afa and Sika - Roman’s dad - making an appearance early on and featuring in the SummerSlam hype package.
Missing from action thus far, though, is the father of those three brawling boys, Rikishi. It has felt like a no brainer that the beloved super heavyweight would show up, but so far we’ve seen neither ample hide nor bleached hair of the big man. It doesn’t seem like there are any issues at play - he’s spoken glowingly about the angle and refuses to count out an appearance - but the writing team seem to have avoided mentioning Rikishi by name at all.
Right now feels the perfect time for Rikishi to return, at least for a cameo. The main thrust of the story at present is the schism between his sons. With a few months to wait for the next major PLE or Saudi show (and accordingly the likelihood of Roman having a big match slim), a serious, intense, senior member of the Anoa’i dynasty could be just what the weekly shows need to keep things moving forward.
And if nothing else, his presence could be a real shot in the arm for one of the most interesting parts of the Bloodline puzzle…
