If this writer had his way, WrestleMania Star would have been headlined by Cesaro and Dolph Ziggler for the WHC, which probably sounds just fine to many readers.

There are plenty of highly deserving people WWE could try out as king of the hill, but each comes with a caveat of some sort.

First, WWE doesn't want a part-time champ anymore. Secondly, forget about anyone who's had so much as a cold in the last calendar year because injuries (and failed recoveries) have already wrecked too many plans.

Then, you've got the guys like Rusev and Bray Wyatt, whose characters are positively steeped in shoddy booking as of this writing, and other amazing workers notorious for putting on great matches before inevitably losing. Over and over again.

Lots of guys would make an interesting experiment, but the vast majority would require a) taking a gamble, or b) some serious corrective booking, when the guy WWE has now is already pretty entrenched.

Maybe AJ or KO would work, but they're both still paying dues as of this writing and it's hard to see them supplanting the Big Dog.
