Billie Kay was exposed to wrestling at a young age, as her brother was a huge fan. He and his friends would get together to watch WWE Pay-Per-View events, and he forced her to watch, too - but soon, she was taken with it. In particular, she became a fan of The Rock.

When Kay was 17, she began training at the Pro Wrestling Alliance school, which was run by a friend of her brother's. At the school, she was trained by Madison Eagles, an experienced female worker who went on to become a two-time SHIMMER Champion.

After three months of training, Kay was ready for her first match. She debuted on June 23, 2007 - her 18th birthday - in a three-way match against Eagles and Aurora. Kay won, starting her career off on the right foot.
