CHIKARA, is just as well known for its serious promotion of female talent as it is silly-as-sausages storylines. As one of the few major wrestling companies which regularly features intergender matches, it's a bastion for gender equality in the business, with the women presented as entirely on par with their male counterparts.

Kimber Lee - currently residing in NXT as Abby Laith - made headlines when she won the company's Grand Championship in 2015, becoming the first female wrestler to hold the premier prize in a major non-gender specific promotion. It was some accolade - but Ruby Riot beat her to the punch somewhat a year earlier.

Competing under the name Heidi Lovelace, the future Ruby Riot became the first female winner of CHIKARA's tenured Young Lions trophy, beating Missile Assault Ant in the finals of the tournament's eleventh edition. Even more impressively, she went on to defend the title numerous times throughout the next year, never once losing. Asuka, eat your heart out.

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
