10 Things WWE Fans Want For Christmas In 2016

2. A Continued Focus On Storylines

Recently, there's been a renewed focus on storylines in WWE, specifically RAW. Whether it's with Enzo/Lana/Rusev, the relationship between Chris Jericho and WWE Universal Champion Kevin Owens, or Sami Zayn's quest for Braun Strowman, RAW's been trying to incorporate more storytelling in recent weeks. Not all of the stories have been incredibly deep or remarkably entertaining, but the fact that WWE seems to have realized the importance of telling stories again is a plus.

For a company that is constantly telling people that "they tell stories", they got away from this core technique quite a bit in 2016. Often times, matches would just be thrown together with little-to-no reasoning behind them and no personal issues amongst the competitors. Add to that the fact that there was little consequence to winning (or losing). and you have a show that doesn't give casual viewers, or anyone other than the ardent professional wrestling fan, much reason to watch.

Over the past few weeks, RAW has even gone back to a format in which a theme is often carried throughout the course of the show. The Lana/Enzo storyline or the New Day breaking Demolition's tag team title record have all been threaded throughout RAW and it's made for a much more entertaining program.

Fans are hoping this continues in 2017.
