10 Things WWE Got Horribly Wrong In 2016

2. Quantity Over Quality

It seems somewhat entitled to complain about such things, but WWE simply puts out far too much content for quality to remain high. The brand split was a high point of the year, but the decision to have each brand put on its own PPV every month is leading to a feeling of burnout amongst fans.

At three hours Raw is still too long, although anyone expecting this to change any time is naive to say the least. SmackDown Live, NXT, and 205 Live are much better off for their shortened lengths, but even so this all amounts to too much WWE programming in one week without even taking into account the mass of PPVs.

All of which means the stories played out in front of us do so far too quickly. No matter how much you love any form of entertainment too much of it can only lead to lessening interest. WWE no longer leaves fans wanting more, choosing instead to overwhelm us with more content than we can deal with.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
