10 Things WWE Has Forgotten How To Do
2. Book Top Babyfaces Properly
Simply put, the booking of Roman Reigns as a 'top babyface' in WWE has been utterly awful. As a more menacing individual who let actions speak louder than his words, Reigns was over.
Even as a heel (when part of The Shield), he was cheered more often than not due to his !*$%-kicking nature and aura. As a supposed babyface, he hears mass booing.
Instead of letting him be, the creative team have nonsensically endeavoured to strip away many of Roman's more likeable traits. He's been shoved into a role that he doesn't seem comfortable filling, his personality just isn't the most marketable part of the package.
There's an overwhelming sense that WWE's power base are repeatedly banging their heads against a brick wall with Reigns. The industry has moved on since the days of Hulk Hogan being holier-than-thou and a man of the people, viewers don't seem to want that kind of babyface anymore.
This is something WWE should know, they booked Steve Austin brilliantly in the late-90's as an entirely different character to Hogan. With Reigns, they are undermining him at every step, and it's not working.
