10 Things WWE Has Forgotten How To Do

3. Work Without An Authority Figure Making Matches

Ever since the 'Attitude Era', it's been rare to see WWE's top matches made by anyone other than an onscreen authority figure.

During the 1980's and into the 90's, the company had a 'President' who was there for the sole purpose of interjecting occasionally when major decisions had to be made.

Guys like Jack Tunney and Gorilla Monsoon didn't interfere in much of what the wrestlers were doing, they were there to act on behalf of the mysterious 'Board Of Directors'.

It was a simple strategy, but now most title matches or decisions have to be taken by an authority figure. There's a sense that WWE have forgotten how to work outside of those restrictions.

That's not good, because it has led to the same situations cropping up time and time again. Usually, these authority characters are heels, routinely feuding with top babyfaces or favouring fellow bad guys.

It's a tad dull, and completely unnecessary to explain why wrestlers are facing off on shows each time.
