On July 7, Total Divas returns to the airwaves. Not only is the show the worst thing going in WWE (and arguably all of television), but for some reason it even bleeds over to the main roster. Occasionally, storylines carry from the reality show onto Raw and SmackDown. This is horrible for a couple reasons. For one, Total Divas admits that wrestling is pre-determined, so how can you tell fans that a story on Divas (like everyone making fun of Natalya's painting ability) is something that carries over to Raw, but not, you know, them admitting everything is fake? During the last season, they set up a weird, brief Paige/Natalya dynamic that carried over from the show to the main roster. So we're supposed to pay attention to that. But evil Nikki and all-perennial good guy John Cena living together? Yeah, just ignore that part. Also, Total Divas was taped months before it airs, yet the announcers make it sound as if it what aired just happened the night before. If you watch the show, though, it's clear that it's well in the past. So an argument over dinner on Divas that suddenly becomes a match on Raw means they haven't been able to get over their differences over the span of months. It's way too messy, so just keep things simple and don't carry any sort of storylines over. Everyone will be better off.
As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at."
Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week.
