10 Things WWE Must Do This Summer

3. Change Tough Enough Quickly!

What do random people yelling at each other in a house and swimming in a swamp have to do with professional wrestling? Why do Hulk Hogan, Paige and Daniel Bryan get to nominate contestants for elimination when they only see 30 minutes worth of footage of their work? And how are the fans qualified to vote off a potential next star due to that same video? There have been eight winners from the various incarnations of Tough Enough, and yet, only John Morrison has reached the status of a higher mid-card in WWE. The bland Andy Leavine didn't make the main roster. Daniel Puder wasn't given a fair shot. Jackie Gayda couldn't wrestle her way out of a paper bag, and on and on it has gone. You would think with so many talented people behind the scenes that they'd be able to pick some more intriguing winners. Now WWE has put that power in our hands. We don't want it! Take it back! It should be up to the people actually training with the men and women to decide. Booker T, Billy Gunn and Lita's opinion should matter more than ours and the judges. What do we know? We consistently vote for the most boring outcomes on a Raw app vote. Don't listen to us! The show also needs to get back to wrestling. Instead of swimming, how about we see who can best execute a Canadian Destroyer on their first day! Okay, so maybe that's a little too dangerous, but give the fans more of the actual wrestling training, which is what they came for. Stop the standard reality TV show nonsense. Otherwise, the show itself should be cut.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
