10 Things The WWE Did Right In 2014

10. Elevating Bad News Barrett Once Again

Bad News Barrett If you thought you were rid of Wade Barrett after his most recent injury, I'M AFRAID I'VE GOT SOME BAD NEWS!!! If you wanted to get rid of Barrett, then you're not really a true wrestling fan as Wade has a lot of talent and charisma on the microphone as well. The Bad News Barrett character debuted on the JBL & Cole Show before showing up at various Raw, Smackdown, and pay per view shows with a ridiculously high elevated platform and a gavel in hand. After a few months of cutting promos, Barrett returned to in-ring action and looked as good as ever. The crowd started to get behind Barrett even though he was a heel, and his performance propelled him to win the tournament to be #1 contender for Big E's Intercontinental Championship just a month after returning. He would win his fourth career Intercontinental Championship by defeating Big E at Extreme Rules earlier this year. Barrett would be in a qualifying match to try to make the Money In The Bank ladder match for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, but was defeated by Sheamus. Unfortunately in June, Barrett was injured after being slammed into the guard barrier outside of the ring by Jack Swagger. He is very close to returning, and just like Ryback when he came back from injury, we should expect Bad News Barrett to get a sizeable push. Elevating Barrett in 2014 was one great thing that the WWE did this year.
