10 Things WWE Should Borrow From Other Sports

8. Rankings

Will you care if Baron Corbin takes on Mojo Rawley next week in his Monday Night Raw debut? If the answer is no, then maybe you should go and ask yourself whether you really deserve to be called a real WWE fan.

Or, alternatively, maybe it's because a whole bunch of matches you watch every week on Raw and SmackDown don't really mean anything - and not just in an existential Zen way but within the context of the WWE landscape.

One way to remedy this could be to introduce some form of ranking system, whereby each win - whether it takes place on one of the weekly TV shows, or on a Network event - sees a wrestler rise another spot in the rankings.

The aim here would be to identify the next number one contender in whichever title division the performer in question competes. It'd be like FIFA's international rankings, which ultimately determine which pool a team is placed in for the World Cup draw.
